This asset has two main features:

1) Is a sea and ocean shader
2) is feature-rich asset

Now what I mean by Sea and ocean shader is that the shader can simulate shorelines,too which most of the related assets dont. And is has tons of features like buoyancy simulation, under water fog and effects (even underwater particle effects) with audio effects, Interactive water (for example you can throw an object to a water surface and it interacts with it), tons of different liquid simulations like magma and mud surfaces. 3D waves with foam. The only problem is the performance. Since this asset uses lots of cameras and CPU work, thus the performance is not good. If you compare it to an other asset (like Ceto) then youll notice the performance difference, However Ceto doesnt come with a shoreline effect or those fancy sound effects or underwater mirror reflection effect. However it could be faster and better by just not being rendered all the time, for example why should it render the water surface when the player is on a terrain and it is not in the camera view at all. There is no a good culling system for it and there is not a LOD system for it. Good news is the developer of this asset actually is trying to maintain the performance of it and well sometime this asset might be as fast as it should. Moving the main cam will make weird artifacts and the tessellation property is not well optimized. It is possible to reproduce a realistic sea looks but it takes time specially if you want to use it with other assets like Tenkoku which is an amazing weather system. This asset is not mobile friendly but if people support it ,It may be in the future. If you are in a hurry and dont need a special effect or a additional item and you just need a sea shader then it may not suits you but if you need a cool all-in-one ready to experiment and use sea asset, then this is the most complete asset you may find.

In my quest of a good water for Unity, the one that can beat the mediocre stock Water 4 from Unity, Suimono was in my list of assets to be reviewed for a long time. I checked the version 1 year ago and it was such a mess that I didn't even bothered writing something about it.

This version has a beautiful preview picture and I had to check it again and see for real.

First of all I don't know how the author managed to get these pictures but there is nothing like this in the demos. Yes it looks similar but the result is an average good looking greenish water, that has a decent vertex animation but has so many problems that I would not use it in a final product.

First the way it is build is not optimized and I doubt the authors really finished a game with it. All the options, thus being managed using a good looking editor script are layers. That mean that it is quite the opposite of an optimized product. Each layer is separate from another and in consequences lot of things are doing repetitively for each layer instead of being done once as it should be.

Then the particles are plain ugly, the full screen effects when you go in and out of the water is ugly, and any other presets about the water apart the default one are totally ugly. I ask myself of the author of this asset just has a bad taste about colors and his settings sucks, if this asset has some potential but the author lack to reveal it because of his bad artistic tastes? Or maybe this water is not well designed and I rather keep working with Easy Water for example.

There is a cool tessellation water that is working only with Direct-X 11 as you can imagine. This water uses so many poly that anyway you won't be able to use is on a low end desktop or a mobile phone.

As for mobile, forget it, it is not designed for it.
When you go inside the water, the step between outside and inside the water is sloppy and you get many flashes, I don't know the reason it is not switching properly.

The only great thing is the sexy lady walking.

Ah and I forget, there is a reason why there is not fly camera, if you add a flyby script and fly around, you will find that this water is not designed to be used from a far distance, the animated water is just around the player and elsewhere it is no mans land. The result is so bad that it is not even worth trying.

This asset is disappointing, I really expected something better.
